Cassius Naylor

Strategic Adviser

Cassius Naylor is an award-winning D.E.I. practitioner, consultant, engineer and advocate. He works with Purpose Union to help clients transform their internal social justice architecture, to empower employee voices and to become leaders in their space. As co-director of advocacy at Outvertising, he leads the company’s work to reform the UK advertising industry and advises on LGBTQ+ inclusion, brand safety and corporate social responsibility. He is a retained creative consultant with the Diversity Standards Collective, as well as a writer, editor, speaker and campaigner.


In his previous role, Cassius was global communications coordinator at the Financial Times, supporting the office of the CMO and the newspaper’s corporate affairs functions. During this time he also served as co-chair of the FT’s LGBTQ+ staff network, Proud FT, where he led the passage of the organisation’s Trans Inclusion Policy; this work has been recognised by the British LGBT Awards, British Diversity Awards and the Rainbow Honours in 2022 and 2023. Prior to this he was special projects coordinator for institutional finance titles in FT Specialist - primarily The Banker and fDi Intelligence - with clients including Visa, Societe Generale, Citi, SAP and a number of European government agencies.
