Bess Mayhew

Bess has worked in communications and campaigns for over a decade, creating strategies for companies, charities and political organisations. She specialises in narrative development, qualitative research, stakeholder management and communications strategy.

In 2016, Bess co-founded the political movement More United and became its first CEO, crowdfunding £1.5 million and collaborating with over 100 MPs across the political divide. Her team ran successful campaigns on issues including migrant justice, disability rights and political reform.

Prior to that, Bess worked at Ogilvy PR, running social media strategies for clients in sectors including FMCG, automotive and energy. She also worked for the Liberal Democrats for 6 years in a number of roles, including as Head of Digital Communications, Senior Policy Advisor and in Nick Clegg MP’s office.

An experienced writer, Bess has written as herself and on behalf of clients for publications including The Times, The Guardian and The Economist, and has appeared on broadcast.

Bess studied Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Oxford University and has held positions on several boards, including the Liberal Democrats’ Federal Executive, Left Foot Forward and Unite to Reform.
